The Board has recently published the "Teacher Registration Board Professional Development Framework" which empowers and supports teachers to drive and determine their own professional development goals and needs. It encourages meaningful engagement in professional development to enhance the contribution that teachers make to children and young people, their peers and to the teaching profession.

All teachers are now subject to a condition on their registration requiring compliance with the Framework. Compliance will be determined by the Board at the point of registration renewal through an audit process. Teachers are required to use the Framework to demonstrate they have met the specified minimum requirements of the Framework. The Framework provides guidance for both teachers and employers in implementation and is intended to complement existing employer-specific professional development policies and requirements.
