Janine Oldfield, at Batchelor Institute for 22 years, worked as a VET and higher education teacher education lecturer. She has extensive research and teaching experience in remote NT and very remote NT Indigenous communities. She holds a PhD in Language and Literacy Education in the Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne. Her research interests include socio-linguistics, critical language policy and planning studies, culturally sustaining and responsive pedagogy, Indigenous language and English as a second language education and Indigenous research methodologies. She has published widely in a range of academic journals and books (chapters and book volumes), delivered findings and presented academic conference papers nationally and internationally.
