TRB update
This is the second edition of the TRB Update for 2008. If you know a teacher who has not received an email from the Board, please encourage them to advise the Board of their current contact details.
Northern Territory Standards of Practice for Accomplished Teachers
The TRB is very pleased to advise that the Northern Territory Standards of Practice for Accomplished Teachers are now complete and available on our website. The Professional Standards and Ethics Committee (PSEC), chaired by Natalie Hyde, has had carriage of this project. The Standards have been written by practising Northern Territory teachers and have been developed after wide consultation with the profession.
The Accomplished Teacher Standards will be published in hard copy later in the year.
The next task for the PSEC is to finalise the Code of Ethics for Territory teachers.
National Professional Development Survey
The first in a series of releases based on the results of the National Professional Development Survey, in which over 400 Northern Territory registered teachers participated, is now available.
The Chair of the Professional Development and Course Advisory Committee, John Sarev has provided the summary and new releases will be published in the coming months.
Registrations
This month the Board registered its 5000th teacher and there are now 5011 teachers registered in the Northern Territory.
This financial year, the Board will exceed the number of teachers registered in 2006-2007 financial year by at least 150 teachers.
Welcome to new staff
The Board welcomes Sharon Scurr to the TRB Office. Sharon is the Acting Senior Registration and Policy Officer and replaces Joyce Purcell who is retiring.

Any registered teacher can now access the Register online and call up your registration number and expiry date.
Are your contact details up to date?
If you have changed your name, you will need to complete the Change of Details form on the TRB website.
