Fees

All applications for registration must be accompanied by the prescribed fee which comprises the registration fee for the applicant’s first registration year plus the application fee (if applicable).

The prescribed fee for graduates from Charles Darwin University (CDU) and Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education (BIITE) is $75.00 comprised as follows:

  • Fee for lodging and processing the application $0.00
  • Registration fee for first registration year $75.00

The prescribed fee for all other applicants is $115.00 comprised as follows:

  • Registration fee for first registration year $75.00

(See Form B for fees applying to applicants under the Mutual Recognition principle)

The annual registration fee is $75.00 for subsequent years. Applicants for registration may pay for up to three years in advance. In October of the year that your annual registration fee is due, the TRB office will send you a ‘Payment of Annual Registration Fee’ form. You are required to pay your annual registration fee by 31 December if you wish to teach in the NT in the following year.

The prescribed fee must be paid before an application is processed. The fee may be tax deductible depending on your circumstances. Please ask your Tax Agent or the Australian Taxation Office.

If the Board refuses your application for registration, the Board will refund the registration fee that accompanied the application (but not the fee for lodging and processing the application).

Once registered, all fees are non-refundable.

The fee supports the work undertaken by the Board to administer the provisions of the Teacher Registration (Northern Territory) Act and to promote the teaching profession and professional standards for teachers.
