Seeking employment
Once you have become a registered teacher, you can seek employment in a government or non-government school. To seek employment in the Northern Territory you can contact employers at:
- Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET)
- Catholic Education Office
- Association of Independent Schools of the Northern Territory (AISNT)
Maintaining your registration
In October of the year in which your registration expires, you will be sent a renewal notice. You will be given the option to renew your registration for up to five years. No documents are required for renewal but you will be required to update your statutory declaration. You should return the renewal notice with payment and completed statutory declaration before your current registration expires. Your new registration certificate will be posted to you as soon as the payment has been processed.
Notification of change of details
You have a legal responsibility to inform the Registration Board of any change to your name, address or the school in which you are employed. If you are notifying of a change of name, you are required to submit certified evidence in hard copy to the TRB office.
