Certificate of Registration (the TRB Registration Card)

Circular No 2 provides an explanation of the Certificate of Registration (the registration card) and is designed to assist you to understand the difference between the term of registration and the financial expiry date. An explanation is also offered as to why the Board imposes conditions on a teacher’s registration and how you will know when a condition has been imposed by the Board.

The Board welcomes any feedback about its Circulars and would certainly like to hear from principals about content for future editions.

s40 Certificate of registration

(1) The Director must issue a person with a certificate of registration if:

  • the Board grants registration, or a renewal of registration, to the person; or
  • any of the details specified in the certificate of registration change.

(2) A certificate of registration must be in the approved form and specify the following:

  • whether the registration is full registration or provisional registration
  • the date the term of registration starts
  • the date the term of registration ends
  • whether there are any conditions imposed on the registration
  • the date to which registration fees have been paid
