The Board is an independent body charged with: registering teachers, or granting authorisation to an employer to employ an unregistered person as a teacher; liaising with providers of teacher education and professional development in the Northern Territory; supporting the development of appropriate teacher education courses.
Australian Registered Teachers - Invitation to Participate in Australia Wide On-Line Research Project
Vanessa Bartley-Heterick, a doctoral candidate of the University of New England, is conducting an Australia wide survey of registered teachers. The aim of this survey is to explore Australian educators' understanding and support of students who may be perceived as gifted within the context of the current Australian educational landscape. We know that early childhood teachers, teachers in rural and remote settings, and casual/relief teachers face challenges and barriers in accessing high quality professional learning. AITSL is currently working to understand those barriers and in order to do that we need to hear from you. If you fit into one of these three groups please click on the link to complete the survey. Renewal of Full Registration
Teachers with a term of Full Registration expiring 31/12/2018 can now apply to renew their term of Full Registration through the online services trbaccount.ntschools.net
NESA Accredited Teachers NSW Teachers with current Proficient or Provisional Accreditation with NESA can apply for Registration in the NT under Mutual Recognition using Application Form B www.trb.nt.gov.au
Notification of Fee Increase
From 1 July 2018 Registration Fees have increased in line with the Darwin CPI. The 2019 Annual Fee is now $88.00.
The test is currently available and is administered by the Australian Council of Educational Research on behalf of the Australian Government.
All students commencing an initial teacher education course from 1 January 2017 will be required to sit the test prior to graduation.
Current students are encouraged to sit the test as successful completion of the test may enhance employment prospects.
