Under Section 25 of the Teacher Registration (Northern Territory) Act, the Board may establish committees as it considers appropriate to assist the Board in performing its functions. A committee is to be comprised of one or more members of the Board and any other persons as the Board considers appropriate.
The Board has established five committees to assist it to perform its functions.
All committees can make recommendations to the Board on matters that have been referred to them by the Board. Membership of the committees is by invitation.
All the committees make a significant contribution to the work of the Board in reviewing processes, developing policy, promoting the profession and fulfilling the regulatory and professional responsibilities for the Board under the Act.
To improve the quality of teaching and raise student outcomes through the promotion of professional standards for teaching and the code of ethics.
